Carmello Anthony Has Already Mentally Moved On To Houston

Carmello Anthony is in a bit of a spot right now- while he’s still on the New York Knicks, they need him gone soon, the NBA season starts in less than a month.

Carmello is willing to waive his no-trade clause to join the Houston Rockets, and according to New York Daily News, he’s already “mentally moved on to Houston.” Those in Carmello’s camp are cautiously optimistic that a deal will be made soon, hopefully before the annual media day hosted for the press next week, at the start of training camp.

Per the New York Daily News;

Anthony’s camp is cautiously optimistic that a deal will be struck before Monday, and trying not to think about the potential media circus that will take place if Carmelo is still with the Knicks. Two weeks ago, Carmelo’s wife, La La, said the family thought a trade would have been completed by now.”

“Mentally, Carmelo and his family have moved on to Houston. Reality is another story. Hopefully, Mills and Perry will have the right answers when they address the media on Friday because the Carmelo issue isn’t going away until he goes away.

The Houston Rockets will be featured with the NBA’s opening night double-header on Tuesday, October 17th while the Knicks open up for preseason on the 3rd, with their first regular season game on the 19th. With 27 days left before the new NBA season, if a trade is to be made, it’ll need to be soon.
